I swear there's a ball. It's a phantom, but it's there.

So, if you didn't already know, which one of these would you consider the worst hitter?

Moment of impact. Dave Winfield.

Dave might have been the best tall man ever to play the game. Not including pitchers.

Bonus Dave card.

Moment of impact. Dave Hollins.

I remember the Mariners picking up Dave for the stretch run in 1996. Unfortunately despite hitting well he wasn't enough, and the Mariners couldn't catch either Texas for AL West title, or the Orioles for the wildcard. Oh well, all they gave up was a prospect. Oh right.....David Ortiz. Ouch.

Moment of impact. Mike Greenwell.

I was always a big fan of Mike, and thought it very appropriate that a man named Greenwell played well in front of a green wall.

From Wikipedia: "Greenwell received his nickname (Gator) during spring training in Winter Haven. He had captured an alligator, taped its mouth shut, and put it in Ellis Burks's locker."

I wonder what Ellis thought of that?

Moment of impact. Cliff Floyd.

When Cliff was coming up in the Expos system, I fully expected that he'd end up being the best player they ever developed. It didn't quite work out that way, but he ended up having a pretty good career and fulfilling quite a bit of his promise.

Moment of impact. Barry Bonds.

I've always liked the action shots that capture bat hitting ball. I'm sure when the photographer sees that they got the perfect shot it gives them a real thrill.

Retro jersey, check. Cool picture wristbands, check. Home run? No, looks like a pop up or a foul.
