Expos Best - Andres Galarraga. Custom Card.

Ah, the classic blue road unis. The Big Cat. Le Grand Chat. If a pitcher could hit the outside corner low, Andres had no chance. And still he had a pretty darn good career.

I found this online. Pretty funny.

Expos Best - Larry Parrish. Custom Card.

I fiddled around a lot with this photo, but I think it came out decent. Used to have an autograph on it, so that had to go.

Larry was moved to Texas for Al Oliver, a trade that helped both teams. Although the Expos only got 2 years from Al, and Texas got 6 1/2 from Larry.

Larry spent the last 1/2 of 1988 with Boston, and went 0-5 in the ALCS vs the A's.

Expos Best - Rusty Staub. Custom Card + bonus!

This is an amateur photo edit, as for some reason finding a really nice shot of Rusty was very difficult. If I find a better image to use, this one might get changed.

Le Grand Orange WAS the Expos for the first couple of seasons. He became a huge star in Quebec during his 1st stint. While the trade to the Mets wasn't a bad trade at all, when the Expos got hosed on the Ken Singleton deal, it made it a lot worse. He came back in 1979, but got traded away again before the 1980 season.

Bonus advertisement.

Expos Best - Ken Singleton. Custom Card.

One of the ones that the Expos should never have let get away, especially considering what they got in return.

And the cap under the helmet. Only cool players could pull that off.

Expos Best - Tim Wallach. Custom Card.

Tim had 5 All Star selections, 3 Gold Gloves and 2 Silver Sluggers.

He played over 2000 games at 3B, had 2085 hits, and twice led the NL in doubles.

He is 9th in games as a 3B, and only 55th in errors commited as a 3B.

He led the NL in Putouts as 3B 7 times, and in Assists as 3B twice.

Tim had a remarkably consistent season in 1987. He was an RBI machine, and almost kept his average above .300.

He was fantastic on bunts or slow rollers down the 3B line, he'd make the barehand pickup and throw as good as anyone I've ever seen.

Expos Best - Pedro Martinez. Custom Card.

On Jun 3 1995, Pedro pitched 9 perfect innings for the Expos vs the Padres. Joey Hamilton matched the shutout for 9, giving up only 3 hits and 2 walks.

I watched this game on TV, and what really drove me nuts was that when Moises Alou singled to lead off the top of the 9th, there was no attempt made to bunt him along. While I'm no fan of bunts, this would have been the perfect place to play for that one run, as it was pretty clear that Pedro only needed one. Fletcher flied out, and then Tarasco hit into a DP.
The Expos then got the run in the top of the 10th, but Pedro was gassed and Bip Roberts doubled to lead off the 10th. It took a good outing by Mel Rojas and a good play to the plate by Jeff Treadway to preserve the win.

Expos Best - Bill Stoneman. Custom card.

Bill also pitched really well in 1972, but I prefer his 1971 season for the IP and K's.

Bill pitched his first no-hitter in his 3rd start as an Expo. It was only the Expos 9th game in franchise history. The New York Mets have played 7806 regular season and 74 post season games without a no hitter. The San Diego Padres have also never had a no hitter in franchise history, and like the Expos they started play in 1969.

Bill had some great games for the Expos, and was a workhorse for the new franchise.

Some of his great games:

Apr 17 1969 900058 Game score 90
Sep 12 1969 9500412 Game score 85

Apr 12 1970 930037 Game score 85

May 26 1971 9211310 Game score 86
Jun 16 1971 9100114 Game score 98(!) (Cito Gaston singled in the 7th)

Aug 20 1972 920037 Game score 87
Oct 2 1972 900079 Game score 89

Unfortunately the last game of 1972 was also pretty much the last time Bill was an effective pitcher. He got hit hard in 1973 for the Expos and in 1974 with the Angels.

Expos Best - Ellis Valentine. Custom Card.

There's a nice article on Ellis and his work with B.A.D. here.

Ellis never quite lived up to his promise as a player, with some of it being his fault and some of it being injury problems. He was an amazing athlete and a big part of the Expos when he was with the team, and when traded he brought back Jeff Reardon, who was a very important Expo as well.

Expos Best - Gary Carter. Custom Card.

Even though it's B&W and not the greatest quality, I still really like this shot. I could have done this with the entire scene as a sideways card, and may still do so as a test.

Custom Card. Expos Best - Tim Burke.

I'm definitely sticking with the non-border look. Just looks a lot better, in my opinion.

Tim Burke did give up 6 unearned runs in 1987, so his RA was "only" 1.78. Still, when you can put up an ERA+ as high as 356, it's pretty clear you had a great season.

Custom Card tests #2. Logo added to Rogers. Expos Best - Steve Rogers

Still working on improvements. I forgot the name of the text used for Rogers, so I'll probably end up re-doing his card.
